<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically change the display method of explanations according to a use history of a user. <P>SOLUTION: A digital camera 10 is provided with a CPU 15, an LCD 16, an input part 18, and a counter 19. A setting list image including items associated with a prescribed function is displayed on the LCD 16. The items included in the setting list image are selected according to the input of a selection command to the input part 18. The selected items are determined according to the input of a determination command to the input part 18. The selected items are determined, so that the associated functions can be executed. A counter 19 clocks the number of times of the determination of selection for each item. When the items are selected under the display of the setting list image on the LCD 16, a guide for explaining the functions is displayed.
