<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tripod-type constant velocity universal joint allowing reduction in the number of components. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The tripod-type constant velocity universal joint comprises an outside joint member 1 having three track grooves 6 formed with cylindrical roller guide faces 7 arranged facing one another in the circumferential direction, a trunnion 8 having three leg shafts 9 protruded in the radial direction, and rollers 3 inserted into the track grooves 6, the rollers 3 being movable along the roller guide faces 7 in the axial direction of the outside joint member 1. In a leg shaft horizontal section passing through a leg shaft center point O1a on a leg shaft pitch circle, the outer diameter face of a circular portion of the elliptical leg shaft 9 is not a true circle, whose size from the leg shaft center point O1a is gradually smaller as tending from the major axis along the peripheral direction. In a leg shaft vertical section passing through a leg shaft center axis O1, the outer diameter face of the leg shaft 9 is a circular face with the leg shaft center point as a center.
