PURPOSE: A linear light source apparatus is provided to control the reduction of the diffusion of the illuminance distribution in the central part of a light guide by separating the light guide from a diffuse reflector. CONSTITUTION: A linear light source apparatus(1) comprises a light guide(3), a light source(2), and a diffuse reflector(4). A groove(31) is formed along the longitudinal direction of the light guide in the exterior of the light guide. The light source faces one end(33) of the longitudinal direction of the light guide. The diffuse reflector faces toward the other end(34) of the longitudinal direction of the light guide. An exterior surface facing the groove has a circular arc shape In order to suitably irradiate light. A circular arc shaped light emitting surface is installed in the exterior surface along the longitudinal direction of the light guide. A hemispherical sealing tool is installed in order to seal the emitting device.
