Method for scheduling packets for transmission with respect to users (1'-3') over shared resource of a first subpart (N1) of a packet switched system. With respect to each user: information (DI) relating to at least one second subpart (N2,N3,IP) of the packet switched system over which packets are transmitted with respect to said user is obtained, a packet transmission delay over said at least one second subpart of the packet switched system being derivable from said information; and it is determined, depending on the packet transmission delay derived from said information, a maximum time (DB) in which packets must be transmitted with respect to said user over the shared resource of said first subpart of the packet switched system.
