A mechanical unstacking device associated with a plate-type press filter having plates slidable in succession along generally horizontal supporting rails comprises dogs 7 and 8 mounted on pairs of chains 1 and 4 mounted on either side of the press reciprocatable in opposite directions respectively, the chains being staggered so that dog 8 co-operates only with plate handles 10a which are only on plates of even class (Fig. 2) and dog 7 co-operates only with plate handles 10 which are only on plates of odd class (Fig. 3). |
