<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire alarm for easily confirming that a battery is connected, and that the supply of power is normally started. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a fire alarm, power supply is started by connecting a connector (4a) wired to a battery (3) to a connector (4b) connected to an internal circuit. The fire alarm is provided with control means (15, 18) for emitting a voice message when the power supply to the internal circuit is started. The voice message is a greeting to a user.
