<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory module that is used efficiently with low power consumption, by arranging memory cells into a matrix form. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When a normal access mode is configured, the word lines of memory cells 22 are activated in units of rows. Meanwhile, when a sorting access mode is configured, memory cells 22 corresponding to a fixed number of rows (8 rows) are handled as a single unit block, since the row of a word line to be activated is changed (fed) by memory cells 22 of a fixed column (a column) within the range of one unit block, specific memory cells 22 astride across a plurality of rows are accessed by a single-sitting access.
