PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire appropriate images in the case of both distant view photography and proximity magnification in an endoscopic device provided with a scope part. SOLUTION: A spectral estimated image signal acquisition mode of irradiating an observation object with illumination light, executing spectral image processing to image signals outputted from an imaging element by the irradiation and acquiring spectral estimated image signals and a narrow band image signal acquisition mode of irradiating the observation object with narrow band light and acquiring narrow band image signals outputted from the imaging element by the irradiation can be switched. A parameter corresponding to a distance between the distal end of the scope part 20 and the observation object is acquired, the threshold determination is executed, a switching signal for switching the spectral estimated image signal acquisition mode and the narrow band image signal acquisition mode is received, and the spectral estimated image signal acquisition mode and the narrow band image signal acquisition mode are switched on the basis of the determined result of a threshold determination part 35 and the switching signal.
