<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the rotation of an output shaft of a speed reducer at low cost. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The speed reducer G1 with a rotation detector equipped with a function of detecting the rotation of an output block (output shaft) 48 includes an auxiliary rotation shaft 58 arranged in parallel with the output block (output shaft) 48, a rotation transmission means 60 for transmitting the rotation of the output block 48 to the auxiliary rotation shaft 58, and an encoder (rotation detector) 62 for detecting the rotation of the auxiliary rotation shaft 58.
