<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately record data. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The magnetic recording head has a main magnetic pole in which a slit is provided along a circumferential direction of a magnetic storage medium and a plurality of coils for exciting the magnetic poles respectively, when data is recorded in the magnetic storage medium, a current of a coil flowing around the main magnetic pole corresponding to a magnetic dot is strengthened, a current of a coil flowing around the other main magnetic pole is weakened, thereby increasing write-margin by generating asymmetrical magnetic field.
