PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable high-image-quality recording by making supplied energy constant with respect to the resistance value variation of an individual heater. SOLUTION: Each of a plurality of heaters provided in a head substrate has a following configuration according to a drive system. In other words, when the drive system is a constant voltage drive system, each has a first switch controlling the supply of energy to each heater and a time constant circuit using a current flowing to the heater or a current flowing to a resistor relatively equal to the heater and the energization of the heater by the first switch is controlled by a pulse generated by the circuit and when the drive system is a constant current drive system, each has a switch controlling the supply of the energy to each heater and a time constant circuit applying a current increasing at a fixed rate with respect to time to the resistor relatively equal to the heater and the energization of the heater by the switch is controlled by a pulse generated from the circuit.
