The present invention relates to a method and a system for processing handover in a heterogeneous mobility protocol mixed network, and a MIP client device. More particularly, an object of the invention is to provide a handover processing method and system, and a MIP client device in order to provide mobility of a mobile terminal in a heterogeneous mobility protocol mixed network where a mobility management method for a mobile terminal can change between CMIP (Client Mobile IP) and PMIP (Proxy Mobile IP) depending on an access (or handoff) network. To achieve this object, the method for processing handover in the heterogeneous mobility protocol mixed network according to the present invention comprises: a PMIP tunnel generation step of a home agent (HA) generating a PMIP tunnel based on a PMIP (Proxy Mobile IP) network access of a terminal; a CMIP tunnel generation step of the HA generating a CMIP tunnel based on a CMIP (Client Mobile IP) network access depending on handover of the terminal; and a PMIP tunnel cancelling step of the HA cancelling the PMIP tunnel as handover of the terminal is completed.
