<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resolver having an axial double angle of "1" which can reduce rotor winding operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The resolver 1 is configured, such that the number of slots 3 or tooth 4 of a rotor iron core 2 is only two, and has the axial double angle of "1". Since the number of the slots 3 or the tooth 4 is only two, a winding 5 is applied to only two places of the teeth 4. Accordingly, minimum winding operation that is required can be adopted, in comparison with conventional resolvers in which a large number of teeth are disposed in its rotor iron core. Furthermore, for the resolver 1, a signal processing mode which can be configured to be any of single-phase excitation/two-phase output and two-phase excitation/one-phase output is available.
