The rotor wheel system comprises a ceramic rotor wheel connected to a drive shaft (6) mounted in a housing (17). The wheel is pushed onto a compensation unit (2) such as a sleeve with external toothed profile (10) to take up the thermal expansion. The compensation unit can be made from teflon mixed with strengthening fillers such as graphite, titanium dioxide.
