A system for dispensing a quantity of a coating material is disclosed. The system includes a dispensing head assembly (210) maneuverable over a target object, and a purge cup (230) operatively positioned relative to the dispensing head assembly (210). The purge cup (230) defines a cavity for receiving a quantity of a solvent therein, wherein a nozzle of the dispensing head (210) is positioned in the cavity of the purge cup (230) when the system is in an idle condition.
