The method involves conducting hot and humid exhaust air through a heat exchanger (12) and forming a condensate by cooling the humid exhaust air in the heat exchanger. The exhaust air is partially separated from the condensate by foreign substances contained in the exhaust air. A fluid is heated in the heat exchanger by the hot exhaust air. The exhaust air is separated from a part of the foreign substances during the formation of the condensate. An independent claim is included for a device for processing exhaust air of heated laundry machine.
