A textile knitting machine has needles which are replaced from time to time. The replacement needles (2) are delivered in an essentially slotted U-shaped transport profile (5) with a series of transverse clamping slits (16, 17). The slit geometry is essentially the same as that of the knitting machine needle bed. Following removal of an outer wrapper and removal of the discarded needles from the machine, the discarded needles are replaced by direct and quasi-simultaneous transfer of the new group of needles from the transport profile, into matching slots in the knitting machine. Also claimed is the replacement pack in condition for storage, distribution and delivery. |
