<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armrest device which can be developed when closing a sliding type vehicle door and stored when opening the sliding type vehicle door which does not need to increase storing speed when opening and closing the vehicle door, and is compact in size and favorable in mounting performance to a vehicle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The armrest device S1 is arranged at the sliding type vehicle door R. The armrest device S1 includes: an armrest body 1; a drive mechanism 2 which drives the armrest body 1; and a movable mechanism which receives power from the drive mechanism 2 to develop and store the armrest body 1. When an opening for getting on and off is formed by moving the vehicle door R to the vehicle rear side, the drive mechanism 2 is arranged at the vehicle front side of the vehicle door R from a region where the body at the vehicle rear side overlaps the vehicle door R, and the armrest body 1 is displaced in a direction opposite to the sliding direction of the vehicle door R.
