<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device generating a highly compressed file having high image quality from image data, such as characters, photographs, or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing device includes: a generation means for generating, from an input image signal, a first image signal corresponding to a character region and a second image signal corresponding to a non-character region, and generating a transparent image corresponding to a first transmittance identification signal which designates the first image signal as a first transmittance and a second transmittance identification signal which designates the second image signal as a second transmittance; a compression means for irreversibly compressing the transparent image; and an image file generating means for generating an image file based on the first image signal, the second image signal, and the irreversibly compressed transparent image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
