<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for an electric automobile, capable of controlling the temperature of comfortable heating operation and reducing electric power consumption, and a control method for the air conditioner. <P>SOLUTION: This air conditioner 10 for the electric automobile 1 includes an air-conditioning device 11 capable of air-conditioning of a dwelling space D through heating-cooling operation, a setting panel 12 capable of setting the target room temperature of the dwelling space D, and a control part 13 connected to the air-conditioning device 11 and the setting panel 12 and having different control of heating operation of the air-conditioning device 11.
