<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display control circuit and control method capable of suppressing the deterioration of image quality, accompanied by the change in the lapse of time of a panel. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A reception interface circuit 10 receives an image data to be displayed on a display panel 222. A timing controller 18 controls the operation timing of a source driver 224 and a gate driver 226, which drive a data line or a scanning line of the display panel 222. A timer 12 measures a cumulative operation time of the display control circuit 100 and retains the cumulative operation time on a non-volatile memory 14. A gamma correction circuit 16 corrects the luminance value of the image data received by the reception interface circuit 10, based on the cumulative operation time measured by the timer 12. A transmission interface circuit 20 transmits the image data of which the luminance value is corrected by the gamma correction circuit 16, to the source driver 224 disposed on an external part in synchronization with timing set by the timing controller 18.
