PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing apparatus capable of performing an AF operation at a desired place through a remote control without being affected by a time lag of image display updating in an imaging system where the image capturing apparatus is remotely controlled from an external device. SOLUTION: The image capturing apparatus 100 exchanges data with an external device 200 and is remotely controlled by the external device 200. In the image capturing apparatus 100, a system control unit 120 receives auto-focus position coordinates designated by the external device 200.
