<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element and a light emitting device which suppresses glare and the occurrence of a dark part and is suitable for use in surface light emission to improve the efficiency of light. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device 40 includes: a light-transmissive member (the optical element) composed of an incident part 11 for making light incident, a first light guide part 2 for guiding light made incident to the incident part 11 to a reflection surface 12, the reflection surface 12 which is disposed on the opposite side to the incident side of light of the first light guide part 2 and totally reflects light for drawing a locus of straight line shape among light made incident and a second light guide part 3 for guiding the reflected light; and a light emitting member (LED30) for making the light incident to the incident part 11, wherein the first light guide part 2 contains light scattering particles which multiply scatter the light and generate light passing through the reflection surface 12 and outgoing to the outside, and the second light guide part 3 emits a part or all of the light made incident to the same surface side as the light passing through the reflection surface 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
