<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester for a thermal transfer sheet providing the thermal transfer sheet having excellent kickback resistance of a dye at thermal transfer and light resistance, and having excellent organic solvent resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The polyester for the thermal transfer sheet prepared by polycondensing an alcohol component containing ≥80 mol% dihydric alcohol component, and a carboxylic acid component containing ≥80 mol% dibasic carboxylic acid component is regulated so that ≥80 mol% of the dihydric alcohol may consist of a branched type aliphatic diol, and ≥80 mol% of the dibasic carboxylic acid may consist of isophthalic acid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
