<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a wheelchair which is comfortable like common furnishing chairs and can be compactly folded. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A seat and a backrest (1) and (2) folded face-to-face are rotated toward a face perpendicular to the axis line of a drive wheel (3), and pushed downward by linear slide mechanisms (5) and (6) attached to an internal surface of a main frame (3), thereby the ready-made wheelchair can be compactly folded without touching its folding mechanism.
