PURPOSE: A process for producing polyketone is provided to prepare polyketone with high catalyst activity and high inherent viscosity suitable for a tire cord. CONSTITUTION: A process for producing polyketone comprises a step of copolymerizing carbon monoxide and ethylenically unsaturated compound in a liquid medium in the presence of an organometallic complex catalyst consisting of (a) Group 9, 10 or 11 transition metal compound, (b) ligand having elements of Group 15, and (c) anions of acid with pKa of 4 or less. A palladium acetate1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)propane precursor is used and as (a) and (b) components and bis(2-hydroxyethyl)octylamine is added in polymerization.
