<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic recording medium access device and notification system for, when a position where a non-contact electronic recording medium is held over an electronic recording medium access device is not a communicable position, notifying a user of a direction to a proper communicable holding position. <P>SOLUTION: When a position where the non-contact electronic recording medium 20 is held over the electronic recording medium access device 10 is not a communicable position, a position detection part 12 discriminates a position where the non-contact electronic recording medium 20 is held. Then, a direction discrimination part 13 discriminates the direction to the communicable position on the basis of information of the position.
