<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for feeding an electronic component capable of reducing a setup time for feeding an electronic component to be fed by a tray and capable of improving a production efficiency even when a production schedule accompanying altering the kind of a substrate to be produced is changed frequently. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for feeding an electronic component includes: a tray take-out device for taking out a tray from a tray storage stage; a relative movement device for moving a relative position between the tray storage stage and the tray take-out device; and a tray transfer device for transferring the taken-out tray to a component sucking area. The apparatus further includes: mechanisms for a step of providing at least one empty storage stage having no tray thereon; and a tray transfer step of transferring a tray to be stored or stored on a storage stage onto another storage stage for improving the production efficiency with the relative movement device and the tray take-out device utilizing the empty storage stage after the start of component feeding step of taking-out a mounting component stored on the tray. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
