<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a plasma display panel with high image quality and high resolution in which occurrence of flickering and non-lighting due to impact and vibration are reduced. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The plasma display panel has a barrier rib and a phosphor formed at least on one of substrate and the other substrate is arranged in opposition so as to form a discharge space. The difference of the rate of porosity of a portion from the apex to 7 μm of the barrier rib and the rate of porosity of a portion from the apex to more than 7 μm and up to 16 μm of the barrier rib is 4% or less.
