<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove the lightning surge voltage, maintain the dielectric breakdown voltage and take a countermeasure against leakage current inexpensively with a small number of circuit components while saving the space. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A lightning surge protection circuit has a common mode line filter L1 connected between an AC input line which is supplied from a commercial power supply and a power factor improving-rectifying circuit, and a power factor improving reactor L2 connected in series with the line filter, wherein arrestors A1, A2 and A3 are inserted between the same winding terminals of all inductor components on the AC input line, and a high surge voltage induced in the inductor of the AC input line is suppressed by discharging the surge voltage.
