<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection processing flow for preventing a transmitting apparatus connected to a receiving apparatus from holding a wrong address. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to a receiving apparatus including: a plurality of connection means for connecting with a plurality of transmitting apparatuses for transmitting video data or the like to the receiving apparatus; a means for selecting any one of the connection means; a means for storing authentication information required for the transmitting apparatuses to transmit data to the receiving apparatus, and for determining, if a detection means detects the connection of any transmitting apparatus, whether or not the connected transmitting apparatus is capable of acquiring the authentication information via each of the plurality of connection means; and a means for transmitting a power-on command so as to instruct the transmitting apparatus detected by the detection means to power on if there is no connection means of which the status signal has been changed from "impossible" to "possible" and, if the connection means of which the status signal has been changed to "possible" is present, selecting the connection means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
