<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wedge which assumes a thin shape and a compact configuration suitable for use in a narrow gap, riches high versatility and the ease of installation even in a narrow space, and stably supports an object to be fixed without easily loosening, and to provide a method of fixing a heavy load using the wedge. <P>SOLUTION: The wedge 1 is formed by combining two bodies 2, each of which includes two weight receiving portions 3 arranged in parallel with each other and each having a weighted surface 5 and an inclined surface 6, and a connecting portion 4 connecting the end parts of the weight receiving portions into a crank shape, and by joining the two bodies together with a bolt and nuts assembly 9. The two bodies 2 face each other such that their inclined surfaces 6 remain in contact with each other and their connecting portions 4 are located at both ends; and the bolt and nuts assembly 9 is disposed in a gap formed between the two weight receiving portions 3. Tightening and loosening the bolt and nuts assembly 9 laid across bolt seats provided in the connecting portions 4 changes the distance between the two connecting portions 4 and accordingly changes the distance between the two weighted surfaces 5 as well. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
