PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a poison by which shellfish poison, fish poison and mushroom poison causing paralysis and disturbance of memory can readily be detected in high sensitivity. SOLUTION: The poison such as the shellfish poison such as paralytic shellfish poison, the fish poison such as swellfish poison and the mushroom poison, acting on an ion channel-type receptor can readily be detected in high sensitivity by allowing a specimen to coexist with a culture cell, stimulating the culture cell with a compound for opening a potential-dependent ion channel, and detecting a compound released from the culture cell by the stimulation by an enzyme luminescence method using an oxidase.
