The invention relates to the use of tetrahydroquinoline derivatives of formula I wherein R ¹ and R ² each independently represent (C 1 -C 4 )alkoxy, R ³ represents aryl-(C 1 -C 4 )alkyl or heteroaryl-(C 1 -C 4 )alkyl, and R ⁴ represents hydrogen or (C 1 -C 4 )alkyl, or of pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, for the preparation of a medicament for preventing or treating post-traumatic stress disorders.
