PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical cell enhancing the sealing capability of a heat seal part in the peripheral part of an electrochemical cell and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: Either one of a positive electrode and a negative electrode of a lithium ion battery 141 is connected to a tray 120t and a sheet 120s constituting an outer packaging 120 of a lithium ion battery 131, the tray 120t and the sheet 120s are bonded through a metal adhesive film 150, the metal adhesive film 150 has polyolefin resin layers 152a, 152b on both surfaces of at least a heat resistant resin layer 151, and coloring pigment is added to the polyolefin resin layer 152b.
