<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bumper retainer capable of preventing a flaw from being given to an article and the article from being damaged even if the article is clamped between a lid distal end part and an upper end part of a bumper when a trunk lid is over-stroked to a lower side. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The retainer 40 mounted to a lower back panel 30 and retaining the bumper 10 includes a mounting part 70 for retaining an upper part of the bumper such that the upper part of the bumper 10 approaches to a lid distal end part 20A below the lid distal end part 20A at closure of the trunk lid, and the mounting part 70 has cushion function. The mounting part 70 has: a lower plate part 71; an upper plate part 72 arranged on an upper side of the lower plate part 71 so as to be opposed to the lower plate part 71; and a plurality of ribs 73 provided between the lower plate part 71 and the upper plate part 72 with a distance in a vehicle width direction.
