PURPOSE: A defroster for a refrigerator with a drum evaporator is provided to minimize power consumption by defrosting a frost layer generated on the surface of a drum evaporator in real time. CONSTITUTION: A defroster for a refrigerator with a drum evaporator comprises a drum evaporator(71), a defrost blade drum(83), a single pinion planetary gear set(95), a drive motor(101), and a receiver(105). The drum evaporator forms an evaporating chamber for a refrigerant. Spiral defrost blades(85) are formed on the outer surface of the defrost blade drum. The single pinion planetary gear set has a ring gear, a sun gear, and a planetary gear. A drive sprocket is installed in the rotary shaft of the drive motor. The receiver is installed in a barrier plate(53) to correspond to the bottom of the drum evaporator.
