Provided is a sheet-like compound semipermeable membrane wherein the cross-section area of a supply-side flow channel can be sufficiently ensured, while maintaining rejection performance.  A method for manufacturing the sheet-like compound semipermeable membrane, and a separation membrane element using the sheet-like compound semipermeable membrane are also provided.  The sheet-like compound semipermeable membrane is provided with a porous supporting body (5) having protruding sections and recessed sections, and a separation active layer (6) formed on the surface of the porous supporting body, and the maximum level difference (HO) between the protruding sections and the recessed sections on the surface (supply side surface (Sb)) is larger than a thickness (t) of a flat section.
