Method and system for configuring documents intended for a given application comprising a first step of configuration by: - filtering a base file (4) comprising at least one reference element identifiable by at least one filter (7,8,9), - locating the areas of the base file (4) by each reference element, - generating configuration instructions in a so-called configuration file (14) on the basis of the content of the areas located in the base file (4), and a second step of generating a document (1) by: extracting (2) data from a database (3), creating said document (1) on the basis of these data, - converting (5) this document (1) by executing the configuration instructions of the first step, and recovering (12) the configured document (6) to be transmitted to the given application.
