PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method of photo detection in a WDM-PON(Wavelength Division Multiplexing-Passive Optical Network) are provided to enable OLT(Optical Line Terminal) to supply a seed light to ONU(Optical Network Unit) and enable ONU to transmit the seed light. CONSTITUTION: A light distributor(170) distributes a seed light. The first polarization beam splitter(190) divides received seed light into TM polarized light and TE polarized light. The second polarization beam splitter(200) divides differential coded uplink signal light into TM polarized light and TE polarized light. The first receiver(300) outputs TM polarization signal which TM polarization lights is combined to each other. The second receiver(400) outputs TS polarization signal which TE polarization lights is combined to each other.
