The ratchet key comprises a combination of an open-end spanner (2) on one side and a ring spanner on the other side. The ring side comprises a ratchet gear. The ratchet gear is formed from a locking element (4) and a gear wheel standing in contact. The locking element is supported in a circular recess (6) which forms an opening to the recess of the gear wheel.
