PURPOSE: An end mill and a cutting insert for an end mill is provided to reduce time for a cutting process by enabling the cutting process at high transfer speed. CONSTITUTION: An end mill comprises a shank part, a head part(14), bottom and side cutting edges(20,26), a rake face(28), and a clearance surface. The head unit is extended from one end of the shank part. A bottom cutting edge is formed on the floor side of the head unit. The side cutting edge is formed on the side of the heat unit. The rake face and the clearance surface are extended from the bottom cutting edge. The bottom cutting edge is composed of the first and the second bottom cutting edge.
