PURPOSE: A video play apparatus and a video capture method using the same are provided to capture and store a broadcasting screen in which a caption data search word is detected, thereby effectively capturing the broadcasting screen according to caption data. CONSTITUTION: An additional information decoding unit(114) decodes additional information corresponding to a broadcast signal. The additional information decoding unit checks whether a caption data search word exists in the additional information. A signal processing unit(112) displays a menu screen for setting a broadcast screen capture condition. A video capturing unit(120) captures a broadcast screen of the broadcast signal.
