Pump casing

The casing (1) has a deaeration chamber (3) laterally connected to an air separation chamber (2) and comprising an opening (22) at an upper end of the separation chamber for discharging air outwardly. The deaeration chamber is opened towards a channel (5) at a lower end of the deaeration chamber. An insert (15) is brought into the deaeration chamber by the opening such that the insert forms a base of the deaeration chamber in an inserted state. The insert limits the deareation chamber towards the channel. The deaeration chamber is separated by a chamber wall (31). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a pump housing.
