There is described an apparatus 20 for metering the use (for example flow rates) of utilities (for example electricity or water) by a plurality of appliances 12A, 12B, 12C, 12... (for example washing machines, tumble driers, power showers etc in for example a house, office, shop, school etc). An input section is arranged to receive first values representative of the total use of a first utility by the plurality of appliances, and is further arranged to receive second values representative of the total use of a second utility by the plurality of appliances. A processor is arranged to analyse both the received first values and the received second values so as to identify the use of individual ones of the appliances based on both the received first values and the received second values. An output section is provided for outputting information from the processor to a user 42. A corresponding method, computer program, computer-readable medium and computer program product are also described. |
