The method involves displacing a traveling apparatus (23) along multiple operating points (2) that are provided in a textile machine (1), where the traveling apparatus is formed for receiving an empty tube from an empty tube magazine (22) and for inserting the empty tube into a bobbin frame. The receiving of empty tube from the empty tube magazine is initiated by the traveling apparatus after insertion of empty tube into the bobbin frame, where the empty tube is present in the traveling apparatus. An independent claim is also included for a textile machine comprising a winding device.
