<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer transducer that stably exhibits excellent performance even when no water exists, and to provide a polymer actuator that can be driven at a low voltage or a displacement sensor exhibiting excellent responsiveness. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The polymer transducer comprises a polymer solid electrolyte including ionic liquid and a polymer component, and electrodes in contact with each other with the polymer solid electrolyte therebetween and insulated from each other. At least one of the electrodes includes a porous active material whose specific surface area As is at least 100 m<SP>2</SP>/g and in which a ratio Ao/As between the specific surface area As and an external surface area Ao is at least 0.1.
