<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent distortion compensation characteristic even in an initial state and to improve the followup ability to a temperature change in an adaptive predistortion system. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A timer 112 measures the lapse of time X from the last transmission end to an initial state, and an LUT selector 113 selects any initial table in accordance with the lapse of time X measured by the timer 112 during the initial state from between LUT 1 and LUT 2 previously stored in an external memory 115 as an initial table. An LUT selector 113 selects the LUT 1 for cold start in a case where the lapse of time X is equal to or more than a threshold X0, and select the LUT 2 for hot start in a case where the lapse of time X is less than the threshold X0.
