<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing device capable of saving energy by reducing useless power when notifying a person being an object of the state of a photographing device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The photographing device includes a photographing means (image sensor 14) for photographing an image, a detecting means (face recognition circuit 21) for detecting whether a person image is included in the image, and a notifying means (tally lamp 58) for notifying the person of the state of the photographing means. It also includes a control means (system control circuit 50) for controlling so as to notify the state of the photographing means when the detecting means detects a person, and so as not to operate the notifying means when the detecting means does not detect a person.
