PURPOSE: A cap assembly is provided to effectively block current flow when generating high pressure gas by comprising a current cut-off member with a through-hole with large area and to improve the safety of a battery. CONSTITUTION: A cap assembly(300) mounted on an open top part of a can in a battery(100) with a structure where an electrode assembly(110) is built in comprises: a safety vent(320) in which a certain notch is formed to be broken by high pressure gas of a battery; a current cut-off member(600) which is coupled with the lower end of the safety vent through welding and cuts off current; and a gasket(700) for the current cut-off member which surrounds the outer circumference of the current cut-off member.
